I entered the role of Fieldwork Services Buyer in July 2017 without specific procurement experience. One of the perks of the job was that you would be encouraged and sponsored to complete a CIPS course to ensure the procurement department remains at a high quality.

I chose the Advanced Certificate (Level 3) as I really wanted to get to grips with the basics of procurement before studying at a higher level.
